The Jump

In the sunlight with the green grass
a joyful smile spread across my face
I sat tall and proud.
Under me walked my Appaloosa
to the creek in the woods.
He walked down the hills,
Through the trees
until he was in the middle
of the flowing Nameless Creek.
All of a sudden fast rolling waves appeared
The mane I held onto swayed back and forth wildly
I closed my eyes
Everything went blank
I just went in the air
Was I flying?
Splash!!!
I didn't feel I was flying anymore
I opened my eyes
I was on his left side hanging there.
Thinking I might fall I jumped down.
It felt the sky had just turned gray.
Never again did I want to experience it.
Never again will I want to experience
the Jump.

MY SUMMER DAYS

One hot summer day
it was yellow like a bee.
I lay under the sunset
with a nice little playset.

I'm riding a bicycle
with a orange little Popsicle.
I like my bicycle
more than my Popsicle.

On winter days it's white
I see snow and blizzard.
On different days
I'm different too.

Some Days

On some days I play and stay,
with jump ropes and chalk.
Bright chalky pictures
I love my bright and playful mood today.

On some days I gaze and daze.
The sky is teal,
I feel like a slithering eel.

On some days I fade away
with a lime green butterfly.
I'm full of joy.

On some days I am the day.
Mango orange sun at set.
I love my fruity and hiding mood.

My Many Winter Days

I am cold inside,
my clothes are pressed against my chest.
I am walking,
my feet are sinking into the soft snow.

I am laying in my bed, eyes closed.
I open them, I see a bright light.
I am thirsty, it is cold, so I want something hot.
I think of warm brown chocolate
with mini white puffs in it.
But I wait until the next day . . . . .

I am back in the cold.
I walk in the door, the warm hits me.
A mug is on the table, I take a sip,
I am in heaven . . . . .

The 4-H Sale Barn

Bottled up.
Can't escape.
Black.
Hot fire.
I can't do it.
I won't.
But I have to.
All alone.
No one is on my side.
Walking into the yellow sale barn.
All the happy faces.
All the excited children.
How can they all be so happy
when I'm so dark.
So black.
